Beverleys’ been voted as one of the best places to live in the U.K. It is a lovely market town that plays host to some of Britains’ best flat racing. The town has pretty cobbled streets and courtyards. As well as the Minster, St Mary’s Church also offers many architectural wonders.
Racing has been party to Beverleys’ history since the 16th Century and is well known for both flat races and family race days.
The town centre also offers an excellent selection of shops and places to eat. The market in Beverley is large market held every Saturday and other shops include Jaeger, Marks and Spencer as well as many individual boutiques. Also due to launch in the autumn of 2015 is a new retail and leisure complex offering a host of big name retailers, a 5 screen cinema and a selection of restaurants.

Enjoy a walk on the expansive Beverley Westwood, stroll around woodland and green one spaces, returning through the ornate North Bar, a 15th century gate and the only one still remaining. Medieval Beverley didn’t have a wall but a ditch and 4 stone gates known as bars. Merchants visiting the town would have had to pay a toll at the gates. Now, only one remains, no toll charges though.
