A party of nine, three children aged 6 to 10. Parents and three elderly. The rooms are large. The decor in good condition, interesting and tasteful. The large tables, in the dining area by the kitchen, and in the garden, were a good size. The garden is safe, quiet and very pleasant. There is a barbecue which we did not use.
The kitchen is well equipped with most of what is necessary to cook for the group. The wine fridge was useful as it released space in the fridge. The cooker is simple to operate and worked well. The small dishwasher was run after each meal.
The lounge is comfortable and spacious. Bedrooms were all a good size. In the heatwave the top rooms were warm.
The bathrooms are modern and the showers work well. Perhaps inevitably, as it is an old property, the floor boards creak in some places.
A very large and comfortable house with a pleasant enclosed garden and within easy walking distance of the city centre. Also close to the river walk and fields for exercising your dog.
We found the house was clean. It was very sparse and not comfortable. We had asked for a cot and high chair. We only got the cot.
The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were good.
Disappointing for the price we paid
The house is a great size for a group gathering and its in a great location - just 10 minutes walk to the centre of York. We have really enjoyed our stay and would look to come and stay here again in the future!
We had a lovely weekend at 70 Clifton. Location is fantastic and beds very comfortable. A few minor things need addressing ie several door knobs came off and it wasn't as spotlessly clean as I would have expected for the price and high spec interior. Rachel was very obliging though and I would recommend this property.
Good property, all rooms generously sized. Great location, easy walk into City.
It became known as our family lodge for the weekend, lovely to have plenty of space to greet friends and family. BBQ and garden enjoyed on Sunday.
Some maintenance is definitely needed, especially to guttering and downpipes . . . there was a cascade every time the shower was used! The kitchen is looking in need of some TLC, several handles missing & chipped paint. But most importantly, there isn't a teapot!!!!
