Castleton House – Glamis
- Angus, Scotland
- Sleeps 20
- Bedrooms 9
- Bathrooms 8
They say its’ the little things that matter and the owners of Castleton House have really gone the extra mile when they re-designed this former small hotel into a stunning luxury large holiday house. Wake up feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep in the exceptionally comfortable, stylish, jewel coloured velvet king size beds that can be found in many of the bedrooms. Bathrooms also offer that touch of luxury, two of the bedrooms have bathrooms with slipper baths, positioned to take advantage of the views over the glorious gardens and the en-suite shower rooms all have large walk in showers. A selection of Temple Spa toiletries make for an even more relaxing soak in the tub.
The entire house has been decorated with style and individuality, elegant modern pieces sit alongside more traditional items of furniture, every room could easily feature in the pages of The World of Interiors. The walls are adorned with an eclectic mix of modern art, even the speaker in the snooker room looks like a piece of art! The snooker table is a 9 foot snooker table, there is also a large TV, wood burning stove and Timothy Oulton Bar. As well as the formal sitting room, there is a TV room and even a champagne room, so plenty of space to spread out.
Outside you will find two hot tubs, extensive seating, including a fabulous bespoke wood table inset with coloured lights down the centre, so dining outside is just as glamourous as dining inside. There is a huge Webber BBQ but should your luck run out with the weather, then move the feast to the BBQ hut, which has seating set around a large BBQ in the centre.
Set in 8 acres of ground, Castleton House is an Edwardian mansion in Eassie by Glamis, famous for Glamis Castle which was home to H.M Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. Glamis is under 2 hours drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow, 30 minutes drive from Dundee, 40 mins from Perth and 1 hour 20 mins drive from Aberdeen.
