There is so much to see and do in Bath it’s no wonder it is such a popular destination for visitors from all around the world. You could simply spend a day walking around the city admiring the stunning architecture, such as The Royal Crescent, which is a street of 30 terraced houses laid out in a crescent looking down over the city. To call them terraced houses seems a little unfair; they are very grand Georgian townhouses about 6 or 7 stores high. Pay a visit to No 1 Royal Crescent, a museum; recently re-opened after major restoration, it gives an insight into life in Georgian Bath.
The Roman Baths lie in the heart of the city, they were constructed around 70AD as a grand bathing and social sing complex and there are one of the best-preserved roman baths in the world. There are also guided twilight walks from 1st July until 31st August.
The New Royal Bath is very popular, you can enjoy either a 2 or 4 hours spa session, which included se of the Minerva Bath, Britains’ only natural warm mineral rich bath. There are also steam rooms and an open-air rooftop pool.
Bath hosts many festivals throughout the year including the Literature Festival, Comedy Festival, Bath in Fashion, International Music Festival, The Royal Bath and West Show, The Jane Austin festival, The Great Bath Feast and The Bath Christmas Market.
Bath offers a great days shopping, you will find many famous names as well as a great selection of independent boutiques and designers. There is also a vintage and antiques market twice a month. For the real fashionista there is even a museum dedicated to fashion. The museum houses a collection of both contemporary and historical dresses.
